On Sunday, May 19th, Council Member Peter F. Vallone Jr. and the Astoria Civic Association will host the 33rd Annual Children’s Bicycle Race in Astoria Park.

Over 300 children – ages three to11 – from across Queens are expected to participate in the race, with over $1,900 in prizes and awards distributed. The event will feature 16 total bike races, with eight in each the girls and boys divisions.

The Astoria Civic Association was founded by Council Member Vallone’s grandfather, Judge Charles J. Vallone, and the bike race was started by his father, former City Council Speaker Peter Vallone Sr., over three decades ago.
