Stamatiki Valiotis to Be Honored at 2nd Annual Champagne & Diamonds Women’s Center Gala Oceanside, NY – Businesswoman and philanthropist Stamatiki Valiotis has agreed to be this year’s honoree at the 2nd Annual Champagne & Diamonds Gala in Franklin Square to support the establishment of a Women’s Center on the South Shore of Nassau County. Mrs. Valiotis pledged a gift of $250,000 to South Nassau Communities Hospital to help develop a women’s center that will serve the unique health needs of women.

In 2015, at the 1st Annual Champagne & Diamonds Gala, Ms. Valiotis expressed her long-term commitment to the South Nassau Women’s Center and its’ mission.

The 2nd Annual Gala will be held on Thursday, April 20 at 6:30 p.m. at the Sand Castle in Franklin Square, New York.

“We are very grateful for the support from Mrs. Valiotis,” said Richard J. Murphy, South Nassau’s President & CEO. “With the help of people in the community like Mrs. Valiotis, we can advance the availability of specialty medical services for women across Long Island. Mrs. Valiotis has benefited from such services herself and she knows firsthand how important it is to make certain all women have the same level of access. She has shown her generosity and commitment today toward making this dream a reality.”

All funds raised by the gala will benefit the development of the Women’s Center, a project being spearheaded by Dr. Alan Garely, MD, Chair of South Nassau’s Obstetrics and Gynecology Department and the Director of Urogynecology at South Nassau. Dr. Garley is one of the nation’s leading specialists in the area of pelvic floor disorders, a potentially debilitating condition that impacts thousands of women each year in our area. The envisioned Women’s Center will provide a comprehensive program of non-surgical and surgical treatments for female

urologic care, including treatment for urinary incontinence, urinary tract infection, bladder dysfunction, pelvic pain, pelvic floor/prolapse issues, kidney stones, genitourinary cancers, and voiding dysfunction, Dr. Garely said.

“We are grateful to have the support of a true community leader and established business woman. We are deeply appreciative to Mrs. Valiotis for her unwavering support of our mission to establish a women’s health center on the South Shore of Nassau County that offers the convenience and specialized healthcare services women need, in an environment that is private, calming and encouraging,” said Dr. Garely.

“I know firsthand how important it can be for women to find the right physician who has the skill to address their needs,” said Mrs. Valiotis. “Dr. Garely helped me tremendously and I share his vision of making the type of care he provides available in the right setting to all those women in need on Long Island.”

Mrs. Valiotis is the proud parent of three children and two grandchildren. She is known for her dedication to a number of charitable efforts, including those in support of parishes and schools, particularly the St. Michael’s Home in Long Island, and other causes that support Greek heritage and culture, both here in the US and in their native country, Greece.
